Entertainment in the 90's
During the 90's "Silverchair" went from schoolboys to rock stars with their song "Tommorow".The sales of Cd players went up so much that they stopped making record players. Going to the movies became popular because of bigger and better technology.

Fashion in the 90s
Women's Fashion- women in the 1990's each seasonseamed to bring a dramatic fashion change -new shapes, colours and lenths.For example,in the summer of 1996 to 1997 cloths were like fashion. Dresses were short and straghit and fabrics had 'hippie' decorations such as peace symbols and flowers.Lime-green and orange were the seasons colours. Flared pants, tight tops and platform shoes were back in style. The big colour for the season was chocolate brown.
During the 1990's there was a trend towards revealing clothestransparent fabrics, low-cut tops and high cut skirts or shorts.Underwear manufacturers produced coloured underpants and bras that were ment to be seen.
Mens Fashion-The sui,t shirt and tie remained standard dress for buisiness and formal occasions. Subdued navy and grey were popular colours for suits and shirts were usually in pastel colours.
For underwear, men usually wore either brief bikini style underpants or boxer shorts. Boxer shorts were a revival from the past, but were now made in silky polyester with colourful designs.
Jeans were standerd casual wear. They could be bought, pre-washed and pre-worn. Blue demin was the most popular, but colours such as black and cream were also availible. Most men chose a comfortable fit rather than the tight look.

Sport in the 90's
In the 1990's 6 new A.F.L teams were formed. Sydney,West Coast,Adelaide, Fremantle, Brisbane
and Port Adelaide. Swimmer Kieren Perkins twice won the 1500m freestyle in 1992' and again unexpectedly in 1996'. Four million Aussies watched him in 1996.
In 95' Greg Norman became the worlds best golfer in the world.
Cricket- In 94' the South African test team toured for the first time in 29 years.
Because of the aparthied. In 95' Australia defated the West Indies on home soil for the first time in 15 years.In 99' Australia won the cricket World Cup for the 2nd time. During the 90's Australia had players such as Warne,McGrath,Mark and Steve Waugh,Ponting,Taylor,Healy,Langer,Slater and in 1998 onwards Gilchrist.
